This week the first trailer for Paul Feig's Ghostbusters reboot arrived and reactions have been mixed.  Granted this is only the first trailer and the movie's release date isn't until July which leaves plenty of time to release more trailers but it's not a great start. We already know that this movie is a reboot not a sequel yet the trailer begins by reminding us what happened in the first movie. In fact there are several references to the original throughout the trailer. It's a nice tribute to a classic but confusing for those viewing the trailer who know nothing about the movie. For fans of the original it might be annoying to find out it's not a sequel after being led to believe it is. Now the first trailer is supposed to be a teaser! You're meant to see little snippets of the movie which will generate interest in the movie. Anyone who has seen Shawn Ryan's The Shield will have an idea of what to expect with Triple 9. Cops who do their job but are also out to take care of themselves. If you're looking for a nice movie, don't bother with this, it's a gritty view of crime, police work and life in Atlanta, but if you want an interesting movie grounded in reality with great characters you should definitely watch Triple 9. The plot revolves around a heist crew made up of two ex-special forces operators  (Ejiofor and Reedus) , two cops (Mackie and Collins Jr) and an ex-cop (Paul) who work for the head of the Russian mob (Winslet). They are forced to take on a high risk job and in order to delay and diminish any Police response, plan to murder a cop (radio code for such an incident is 999 - urgent assistance), the cop they pick is Mackie's partner played by Casey Affleck. After ten years and four movies Daniel Craig is apparently done with 007. What will this mean for the franchise? Are we going to get another reboot or will the next actor pick up where Craig left off? I never thought I'd say this because I have been a fan of Bond for as long as I can remember, but if Craig doesn't return I think they should put the super spy to bed, at least for a few years. 2016 is a big year for DC and Warner Brothers, it's the year where they begin to roll out what's being called the "DC Extended Universe", DC's answer to the Marvel Cinematic Universe or MCU. But is there a problem with Batman v Superman? It's been three years since Man of Steel hit cinemas, compared to Marvel who get movies out every year and plan to every year up to 2019 this is slow. Granted where Marvel made several origin stories first and then brought the Avengers together DC are using   Batman v Superman to unite the Justice League and open up the DCEU.
