In the early 1960's Boston was hit with a string of murders in which women were strangled in their own homes. Initially investigated by the Boston Police Dept. as individual killings, it was Loretta McLaughlin (Keira Knightley) - a reporter for the Boston Record American newspaper - who originally connected them. She and fellow reporter Jean Cole (Carrie Coon) struggled against obstructions put up by law enforcement and their own colleagues, as well as the sexism and misogyny of the time to report on the case of the Boston Strangler. Another 20th Century Fox property has arrived on Disney+  with relatively little fanfare. With this gritty noir writer/director Matt Ruskin attempts to make sense of the mystery surrounding this illusive killer and his reign of terror over the city of Boston. An independent film company sends a videographer ahead of a story to investigate a body farm where human decomposition is researched. The footage she sends back leads the rest of her team to follow her footsteps to uncover a grisly medical abyss. As you can probably guess from the title, this is not a tale of happiness and wonder. Nope, the appropriately named Body Farm  is body horror in its truest form, and rather gory at that! Clearly a great deal of creativity has gone into the make-up and gore effects. They are striking in their realism. Needless to say, this is not a movie you want to watch during breakfast... or lunch, or diner. Unfortunately the same cannot always be said of the plot, which is your typical horror movie fare. One in which a bunch of guys - the kind you will only find in a horror movie - visit a place they probably shouldn't. And even though everything they see screams "leave and never come back" - something to which the aforementioned gore effects

The first thing that strikes you when watching this teaser - after the striking animation, that is - is that these Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles actually act and sound like real teenagers. It certainly helps that they're being voiced by actual teenagers. The banter between them is perfect! In this mere glimpse of what is to come, we're seeing teenagers being teenagers; causing chaos in the search for fun and entertainment. Granted they're also humanoid mutant turtles, but I guess that means teenagers are pretty much the same in every species. Parents will undoubtedly be pointing to the central scene depicted here when explaining to their children why they can't be trusted with anything sharp! In the wake of T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman)'s death, Wakanda is faced with a new threat. Other countries are once again looking to acquire vibranium, sometimes aggressively so. Up to now Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett) and her armies have been able to protect what's theirs. But the actions of these nations have drawn the attention of the under water world of Talokan, and its leader Namor (Tenoch Huerta), and he will stop at nothing to keep vibranium out of their hands. If nothing else, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever  is a loving tribute to Chadwick Boseman. The opening scenes featuring T'Challa's funeral carry with them the sadness of his passing, and yet, more importantly, they are a celebration of his life and the character he embodied. More than that, Wakanda Forever  - and all those who worked on it - carries on the legacy that he started with Black Panther . His absence is felt throughout, it's like a driving force behind everything, including some beautifull

The first teaser for the latest Gerard Butler/Rick Roman Waugh team-up, Kandahar , has landed, and it doesn't look too bad. If you haven't seen it yet you can check it out below. So it appears there are two movies coming out in May that are about driving really fast. Only this one looks to have some sort of plot, as well as a serious sense of urgency. And Kandahar 's trailer does at least leave a little to the imagination, instead of putting the whole movie into an almost four minute trailer. Upon arriving in Boston, former investigative reporter Irwin M. Fletcher - AKA Fletch - (Jon Hamm) discovers a dead woman in the house that has been rented for him. Either way, it did seem strange to try to revive a character so synonymous with Chevy Chase and his whacky, improv style. It would almost be like recasting Indiana Jones or Jim Rockford! However, in reality this is like comparing Sense and Sensibility with Shaun of the Dead . Granted,  Top Gun: Maverick  is a movie about (or at least revolving around) Naval Aviators. But it's really about the flying, looking cool while doing it, and of course... never leaving your wingman. That is one way in which these two movies do connect.
