Zack Snyder’s Justice League | Moustache Teaser Reaction

The first teaser for 'Zack Snyder's Justice League' has landed. Not seen it yet? Check it out below:

It's only a quick snippet of the new things to come, but it does have a small reveal. It seems that Diana Prince was doing some research into Darseid, and in the process discovered an ancient painting of the man himself. The clip has a slightly Indiana Jones feel to it, apart from Lex Luthor's ramblings about bells not being un-rung playing over the top. After that we're treated to a shot of the world conquering alien which looks suspiciously like one that featured Steppenwolf in the theatrical cut of Justice League.

Other than that, there's not really much to say. Undoubtedly it's just an attempt to keep this interesting project current. But it's good to see that this much whispered about character might actually make an appearance, when we finally get to see Zack Snyder's vision for the Justice League sometime next year.
What did you think of this…

The Snyder Cut | Wouldn't Be The First Time a Director Got a Second Chance

It seems that a fairly common occurrence amongst movies tied to Warner Bros. is the magical disappearing/reappearing director. Does that mean there's hope for the Snyder Cut? I certainly hope so!

Ever since Justice League hit cinemas in 2017 - possibly even before - fans have been calling for Zack Snyder's original vision to be released. Snyder famously faced issues regarding the darker tone and longer run times his movies were taking, especially after the negative response to 'Batman v Superman'. This of course led to rewrites of the superhero team-up movie, and certain plotlines established or teased in 'BvS' - including the epic Knightmare scene - being dropped. The director then left the production after the tragic death of his daughter. Joss Whedon was brought in by the studio to finish the movie, this included the completion of post production and some major reshoots, further altering the movie. All of which resulted in a movie that is drastically differen…

Justice League | Average Guy Movie Review

The Justice League movie has finally arrived. The DCEU's team up movie - much like Avengers Assemble - sees our heroes take on an alien invasion in the form of Steppenwolf (Ciaran Hinds) and his Parademons.

Wonder Woman | Average Guy Movie Review

In her first solo outing, we get to see Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman save humanity for the first time. After growing up on the hidden island paradise of Themyscira, Diana, Princess of the Amazons witnesses a plane crash off the coast. From the wreckage she pulls Steve Trevor (Chris Pine), an American spy on the run from the Germans. When the pursuing Germans arrive at Themyscira, the Amazons are exposed to a war that spans the globe. Convinced that Ares is responsible, Diana heads off in search of the God of War so she can kill him and restore peace.

At this point you may be thinking: do I need to see another superhero origin story? Well probably not, but do we really "need" any movie? Wonder Woman is the fourth movie in the DCEU and according to many, the first to get the tone right. Despite being set during one of our darkest periods in history, Patty Jenkins still manages to bring humour to the proceedings. It really is a fish out of water story for both Diana and Steve. F…

The reviews are in...Wonder Woman is looking good!

Screen Junkies News reported last night that the embargo on social media reaction to Wonder Woman has been lifted and that by all accounts, things are looking good. According to one twitter user; the positive reactions broke twitter!

Critics have had very positive things to say:
Wonder Woman is the DC movie I've been waiting for. It's exciting, inspiring, funny, and has some truly awe-inspiring action scenes. — Germain Lussier (@GermainLussier) 19 May 2017

Happy to report 'Wonder Woman' is a blast and @GalGadot is fantastic. Her chemistry with Chris Pine is magnetic. Absolutely recommended. pic.twitter.com/VPW4QW3IhM — Steven Weintraub (@colliderfrosty) 19 May 2017

WONDER WOMAN: Easily my favorite DCEU film. Has the humor and heart the franchise so desperately needs. Gadot and Pine are charming as hell. — Kate Erbland (@katerbland) 19 May 2017
I have to admit, when I first read about the Wonder Woman movie I got a 'Captain America: The First Avenger' sort of vibe…

Why You SHOULD Watch the Ultimate Edition of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

This isn't going to be a long and detailed breakdown of the Ultimate Edition, however there are some spoilers ahead. I'm not going to go through every subtle difference in intricate detail. But I am going to explain why I think the Ultimate Edition is worth a watch.

First of all, if you haven't seen Batman v Superman, don't bother with the theatrical cut. Go straight to the Ultimate Edition, it's by far the better version and not just because it's longer. The Ultimate Edition is what Zack Snyder wanted us to see, but it was cut for a lower age certificate and a shorter run time. Now I'm not sure that the changes are enough to make those who passionately hate the movie change their minds. But those who don't like the theatrical cut may be impressed by the changes, of which there are many. The extra thirty minutes go a long way towards plugging the gaps and plot holes in the story, including what happened in Africa and the aftermath, Clark's trips to G…

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice: Average Guy Movie Review

After three years of waiting, it has finally arrived. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, possibly one of the most talked about, debated movies of recent years. But was it worth the wait?

So far the critics have not been positive about this movie, in fact as I write this the rating on Rotten Tomatoes stands at 28%. However, the audience score is currently 72%, quite a difference of opinion! As the title of this post might suggest I'm not a movie critic, I'm just an average guy who loves movies, and yes I loved this movie. There's only one small part I didn't like, I'm not going to reveal it because I'm not in the habit of spoiling movies. I think it might be explained in the upcoming Justice League movies but right now, without context it's weird.

I've heard Batman v Superman is too long, there's too much going on, too many characters, you need to see it twice. Dan Murrell of Screen Junkies described it as five movies in one:

a sequel to Man of Steela …

Triple 9: Average Guy Movie Review

Anyone who has seen Shawn Ryan's The Shield will have an idea of what to expect with Triple 9. Cops who do their job but are also out to take care of themselves. If you're looking for a nice movie, don't bother with this, it's a gritty view of crime, police work and life in Atlanta, but if you want an interesting movie grounded in reality with great characters you should definitely watch Triple 9.

The plot revolves around a heist crew made up of two ex-special forces operators (Ejiofor and Reedus), two cops (Mackie and Collins Jr) and an ex-cop (Paul) who work for the head of the Russian mob (Winslet). They are forced to take on a high risk job and in order to delay and diminish any Police response, plan to murder a cop (radio code for such an incident is 999 - urgent assistance), the cop they pick is Mackie's partner played by Casey Affleck. To complicate matters for the crew, Ejiofor has a child with Winslet's sister (Gadot), Winslet uses this to her advantage…

Is the DC Extended Universe in trouble? Probably not!

2016 is a big year for DC and Warner Brothers, it's the year where they begin to roll out what's being called the "DC Extended Universe", DC's answer to the Marvel Cinematic Universe or MCU. But is there a problem with Batman v Superman?

It's been three years since Man of Steel hit cinemas, compared to Marvel who get movies out every year and plan to every year up to 2019 this is slow. Granted where Marvel made several origin stories first and then brought the Avengers together DC are usingBatman v Superman to unite the Justice League and open up the DCEU. Now, everything I've seen so far suggests that Batman v Superman is going to be a great movie, hopefully the first of many. However, since its announcement there have been a few issues. First there was the negative reaction to Ben Affleck being cast as Batman, something I covered in a previous post. The second trailer didn't go down well with fans either, many believed it gave away too much with the …
