Deadpool & Wolverine | Average Guy Movie Review

Having given up being Deadpool, Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) is a little down on his luck. So when the Time Variance Authority (TVA) come calling with a job offer, the merc with a mouth is all ears. And he has the perfect partner in mind, now he just needs to find him... well, the right "him", anyway. In true Deadpool  tradition, Wade Wilson - along with his new best friend - explodes on to the big screen in another hysterical opening credits sequence, giving you a not so subtle hint of what to expect over the course of his first movie in six years. Yep, that's right. It has finally happened. Deadpool has landed himself a place in a dark corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe , and he's brought everyone's favourite Adamantium clawed mutant with him. Was it worth the wait? Was it worth dragging Hugh Jackman out of X-Men  retirement? HELL YES!!!  It's absolutely fantastic seeing them together finally, and they're dragging the entire Fox-Verse  into this incr

Captain Britain and Deadpool in the MCU

Who - and I'm talking to the British readers here - would like to see a British Marvel superhero enter the MCU? Granted there have already been two British characters of note in Marvel movies, but Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) is very much retired, and James Montgomery Falsworth (JJ Feild) hasn't been seen since the end of World War 2. Maybe it's time for a British superhero. We Got This Covered is reporting that a source has confirmed Marvel plans to introduce Captain Britain into the MCU at some point during Phase 4.  Brian Braddock was a scientist working at the Darkmoor nuclear research centre. During an attack on the facility, Braddock went for help but crashed his motorcycle. Badly injured, Braddock was visited by the Omniversal Guardian who gave him the choice to become a superhero. By making the right choice, Braddock became Captain Britain and is gifted with several powers including superhuman strength, speed, stamina, durability, reflexes, senses and sup

Deadpool 2 | Average Guy Movie Review

The Merc with the Mouth is back and this time...he's got a Celine Dion song. When Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) tries to help a troubled young mutant named Russell (Julian Dennison), he's set on a collision course with Thanos, I mean Cable (Josh Brolin) - a time travelling cyborg looking to change the future. In order to protect Russell, Wade will need to assemble the X-Force, a team of colourful individuals, and one guy with a moustache. When I first heard that Tim Miller had left the project due to "creative differences" with Ryan Reynolds, I was more than a bit concerned that a promising new franchise was going the way of Universal's Dark Universe! Said concern started to fade with the announcement that David Leitch - who's work I'm a big fan of - had been hired to replace Miller. And I'm pleased to say he didn't disappoint, having used his considerable experience to create some phenomenal action sequences that fit perfectly with the Deadp

Deadpool: Average Guy Movie Review

Deadpool has arrived! After a very long wait and a very intense marketing campaign he is here and he has not disappointed! Normally I would write an opening paragraph to introduce the movie, show you the poster and get on with telling you what I thought but it all seems pointless. You know exactly what I'm going to say...it was awesome, in fact I've seen it twice inside a week! The movie has already broken records: Highest grossing February release Highest grossing 'R' rated comic book movie Biggest 'R' rated opening weekend Biggest opening weekend for Twentieth Century Fox Biggest opening of any previous X-Men movie And it's on its way to becoming the highest grossing 'R' rated movie of all time. I know I've said it before; just because a movie makes lots of money doesn't mean it's a good movie but Deadpool really is! Tim Miller delivers a very funny movie with a good story, great actors who give great performances and con
