Why You SHOULD Watch the Ultimate Edition of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

This isn't going to be a long and detailed breakdown of the Ultimate Edition, however there are some spoilers ahead. I'm not going to go through every subtle difference in intricate detail. But I am going to explain why I think the Ultimate Edition is worth a watch. First of all, if you haven't seen Batman v Superman, don't bother with the theatrical cut. Go straight to the Ultimate Edition, it's by far the better version and not just because it's longer. The Ultimate Edition is what Zack Snyder wanted us to see, but it was cut for a lower age certificate and a shorter run time. Now I'm not sure that the changes are enough to make those who passionately hate the movie change their minds. But those who don't like the theatrical cut may be impressed by the changes, of which there are many. The extra thirty minutes go a long way towards plugging the gaps and plot holes in the story, including what happened in Africa and the aftermath, Clark&

To Boldly Go...Wherever the Hell You Want

Hello Games has released their groundbreaking new game; No Man's Sky. Available on PS4 and PC, it gives players the opportunity to explore a galaxy of 18 quintillion planets (yes that's a real number), with the ultimate goal of reaching the centre of the galaxy. Along the way they will have to create, mine and trade resources to power and advance their equipment and their ship. The game is built on four pillars: Exploration Trading Combat Survival The developers have done a good job of capturing the feel of both Star Trek and Star Wars whilst also taking inspiration from Frank Herbert's Dune and science fiction authors Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke and Robert Heinlein. Every planet in the galaxy is explorable. When players log in for the first time they will find themselves on a random planet, where they will have to complete certain tasks before they can leave. From there players can go wherever they want provided they have the resources to do it. Play

Finding Dory: Average Guy Movie Review

It seems that Pixar are looking to reclaim their title as the definitive name in 3D animation movies and with Finding Dory they might just do it. Thirteen years after Finding Nemo took the box office by storm and became one of Pixar's best loved movies, we return to the ocean with Finding Dory. Set a year after the first movie, Dory (Ellen DeGeneres) is living with Marlin (Albert Brooks) and Nemo (Hayden Rolence), in fact Marlin has essentially adopted her. Dory is still struggling with her memory but has random flashes of her past. When she remembers something about her parents the three of them set off on another fun filled journey across the ocean to find out where Dory came from. Along the way they meet old friends and make some new ones including Hank (Ed O'Neill), a seven tentacled octopus who just wants to be left alone, Destiny (Kaitlin Olson) a near sighted whale shark, Bailey (Ty Burrell) a supposedly echolocation challenged Beluga Whale and sea lions

Suicide Squad: Average Guy Movie Review

Once again the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) is caught up in controversy, this time with the release of Suicide Squad. So far critics have been very, well critical of the movie. Something fans aren't happy about, so much so that they have called for Rotten Tomatoes to be shut down. As a movie fan I find it a little extreme to want to quiet those who don't agree with you. One of the joys of movies is discussing and debating them, that doesn't really work if the other side can't speak. Are the fans worried about sequels? Because movie companies are more likely to look at profit, and maybe fan reaction. I'm not a movie critic, I'm just a movie fan and I thought Suicide Squad was brilliant. It was funny and action packed with a good story and great characters. More than anything it's a very different approach to a movie in a superhero universe. Amanda Waller Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) assembles a group of the worst criminals and encarcerates them in Be

Jason Bourne: Average Guy Movie Review

This is probably the hardest review I've written so far. I've been a fan of the Bourne movies ever since The Bourne Identity came out. I am one of the apparent few who not only like The Bourne Legacy but also can't understand why so many others don't like it. So the idea of Matt Damon returning to the role of Bourne after nine years was very exciting. Unfortunately the best way to describe the new movie is underwhelming. I think the problem with Jason Bourne (that's the movie not the man) is, not only does it feel like a rehash of previous movies but it also seems to have lost the realistic feel that the Bourne movies are known for. Click here for the spoiler filled review in which I go over my problems with the movie. Nine years after he disappeared into the East River, Jason Bourne re-emerges in Greece. Drawn out by new questions concerning his past, Bourne must once again go in search of answers while the CIA stop at nothing trying to catch him. This ti

Jason Bourne: Spoiler Review

I don't usually write spoiler filled reviews because I don't see the point. But considering my not so positive review of Jason Bourne, one of the most highly anticipated movies of Summer 2016, I thought it might be worth trying to explain why I reached the verdict I did. If you haven't seen this movie stop reading because there are spoilers ahead. Click here to see the spoiler free review. The movie begins with Bourne in Greece. He's laying low, making money by competing in underground fights and still struggling with his past. He lacks purpose which is making him miserable. Nicky Parsons on the other hand is busy hacking the CIA in order to expose their black ops programs. So far so good. But when Nicky finds something out about Jason's (or should I say David's) past, she heads to Greece to find him. Unfortunately her activities have drawn the attention of CIA Agent Heather Lee (Alicia Vikander), a cyber ops specialist who begins to track her. Using a
