What's Up, Moustache? #6 | Ten Years!!!

I've been thinking about Grosse Pointe Blank  a lot lately. Specifically, the scene in which Jeremy Piven repeatedly screams "TEN YEARS!!!" at John Cusack. Now you may be wondering why. Or, maybe not. Maybe you figured it out before you clicked the link. The point is, I don’t see another goddamn movie blogger, so pipe down. Anyway... ten years ago today, The Movie Moustache  went live. Although it was Moustache Movie News  back then. It all started with a little post about the then upcoming Jurassic World  sequel - what would turn out to be Fallen Kingdom   - and whether they should stop. Needless to say, they did not listen, as we've had three  Jurassic  sequels since then. And ten years later, even though I have enjoyed some of those sequels, I'm still wondering how many more dino adventures they could or should get out of this prehistoric franchise. But that's not the only milestone we've passed in the last decade. My favourite movie,  Ba...

Dave's DVD Dungeon | Part 3

So we escaped from the Planet of the Apes, and now all the dogs and cats are dead. Anyone remember that scene in Back to the Future Part 2  where Doc Brown talks about the timeline skewing into a tangent? Yeah, that sprung to mind a lot while watching Conquest of the Planet of the Apes . Maybe the dogs and cats have distracted us so much over the centuries they've hindered our advancement. Without them we could enjoy a life that includes energy shield doors, fancy interrogation methods, extreme yet uniformed tailoring, and ape servants. Of course we'd also have to live in a Nazi-like police ...

Back To The Future | Moustache Feature | Movierob's Genre Grandeur

This month on Movierob's Genre Grandeur the topic is our favourite 80's fantasy movies. Well when I heard this, the choice was obvious...Back To The Future! The story of Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox), a teenager who after accidentally being transported 30 years into the past inadvertently prevents his own parents from meeting. Now with his mother infatuated with him instead of his father and is own existence in jeopardy, he has just one week to set things straight and get back to the future. And the adventure didn't stop there, Back To The Future spawned two sequels, an animated TV show, rides at Universal Studios theme parks in California, Florida and Osaka and a multitude of video games.  Click here to check out all the other reviews in this month's Genre Grandeur. Back To The Future (BTTF) is an important movie for me. Not only is it the first movie I remember watching as a kid, I was born in 1985, two weeks after that fateful weekend in October in which th...
