Greenland 2: Migration | Average Guy Movie Review

After 5 years living underground, the Garritys are forced to leave their bunker in search of a new home. With all of North America uninhabitable, their only choice is to head for Europe, and the place where the Clarke asteroid impacted our planet. Which, due to its unique makeup, is believed to be one of the last hospitable places on Earth, and could hold the key to a new life on the surface.  I remember when Greenland  landed on Prime Video  after a cinematic release was aborted thanks to Covid. It was a bit of a surprise, in that it wasn't your typical Gerard Butler vehicle. Instead of the Scottishy-American hero in a super cheesy action flick, you get this pretty average guy and his family, caught up in an extinction level event. Their journey to safety is certainly tense, and a thrill ride for audiences, but witnessing all the chaos of Armageddon  from their perspective makes it all oddly relatable. Possibly a little too relatable. There was, however, one thing t...

KANDAHAR | Moustache Teaser Reaction

The first teaser for the latest Gerard Butler/Rick Roman Waugh team-up, Kandahar , has landed, and it doesn't look too bad. If you haven't seen it yet you can check it out below. So it appears there are two movies coming out in May that are about driving really fast. Only this one looks to have some sort of plot, as well as a serious sense of urgency. And Kandahar 's trailer does at least leave a little to the imagination, instead of putting the whole movie into an almost four minute trailer. Gerard Butler plays Tom Harris, a CIA operative working in the middle east to counter Iran's attempts to develop a nuclear programme. But when his identity is compromised, Tom and his as yet unnamed translator (Navid Negahban) become the targets of a massive manhunt involving the Iranian military and other interested parties. The pair's only hope is to fight their way to an extraction 400 miles away in Kandahar. Hardly your average road trip. Not only do they like working toget...

Something that becomes a whole lot more difficult when word of our impending doom gets out, and society instantly begins to break down. When you first think of a disaster flick featuring Gerard Butler, you probably imagine him doing his Scottishy-American action hero bit, ...

Angel Has Fallen | Average Guy Movie Review

When Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) is framed for an attempt on President Trumbull's (Morgan Freeman) life, he must go on the run in order to prove his innocence. But with law enforcement and the real attackers on his trail, Banning must turn to the last person he'd choose, for help. The question is; can he expose the conspirators in time to save the President? The Scottish/American hero is back once again to save the President, only this time it's his turn to fall - from grace that is. If Olympus Has Fallen is Die Hard in the White House, and London Has Fallen is basically Die Hard 2, Angel Has Fallen is definitely The Fugitive. For the most part it is another instalment in the Mike Banning on the war path franchise, but director Rick Roman Waugh has at least tried to change things up with Angel. More importantly, he has dialled back the cheese. Olympus was cheesy, London took it to an unnecessary level, so it was quite refreshing that Banning isn'...
