The Gray Man | Average Guy Movie Review

A CIA assassin codenamed 'Six' (Ryan Gosling) becomes the subject of a global manhunt when his latest target hands him an item containing information that's rather compromising for certain agency officials. In order to retrieve the item said officials offer Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans) - a former operative and all around deranged lunatic - unlimited means to hunt Six down. The Russo brothers have delivered all-out action insanity with The Gray Man . Ryan Gosling and Ana de Armas at their arse-kicking best. Chris Evans as the moustache twirling villain (you know he's evil because he wears shoes with no socks!). Jessica Henwick and Billy Bob Thornton in supporting roles and pretty much non-stop carnage across half the globe. Moreover, the movie is unapologetic in its delivery of action scene after action scene without explanation or the opportunity to catch breath. This is Saturday night action movie viewing at its finest... or at least it should be. For some reason The Gra

Moustache Lockdown Streaming Survival Guide Part 20 | Cherry

Having brought phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to a bombastic conclusion, the Russo Brothers have returned to a world without superheroes in order to tell a more shocking and real story, but they're bringing one of their mighty Avengers with them. That's right, it's time to talk about 'Cherry'. Don't forget to check out the rest of our Moustache Lockdown Streaming Survival Guide, which you can find by clicking here . The story of an unnamed Protagonist, one who through a combination of loss and feeling like he doesn't fit in, decides to join the US Army. There he trains as a medic and quickly finds himself deployed to Iraq, where he witnesses the horrors of warfare close up. Once home his PTSD goes undiagnosed and he soon falls into drug addiction, and before he knows it he's robbing banks just to support his habit. Based on the semi-autobiographical book of the same name by Nico Walker, 'Cherry' is shocking tale of the tragic effects th

Avengers: Endgame | Average Guy Movie review

After Thanos (Josh Brolin) successfully wiped out half of all life in the universe, the Avengers - those that remain anyway - are left to pick up the pieces. Each of them must try to deal with what happened in their own way. But when a chance at undoing "the decimation" presents itself, Earth's mightiest heroes must stand together one last time..."whatever it takes." Infinity War may have been a trip through the emotional ringer, but Endgame is more like a rollercoaster ride through it...backwards. This is like nothing we have ever seen in the MCU before, and at the same time feels very familiar. It's safe to say that the stakes have never been higher, the same can also be said of the cost. The MCU has been criticised in the past for it's portrayal of death, and the interesting work-arounds our heroes have used to cheat it. But this time - as promised by the Russos - the price of resurrection is very high, and it's one the Avengers must be

Avengers: Endgame | Moustache Trailer Reaction

The second trailer for Avengers: Endgame has arrived, and it's a little more hopeful than what we've seen up to this point. If you haven't already seen it, check it out below. It starts off with a little recap, what our heroes have been through over the last ten years, the things they've seen and the people they've lost. Tony thinking about how he became Iron Man, Steve Rogers doing the same with his own past and Thor thinking about his father and how he became King of Asgard, only to see half of his people - if not more - wiped out in an instant. Hawkeye teaching what could be his daughter - or possibly a young Kate Bishop - to use a bow and arrow is a particularly pertinent shot, given that we have no idea what has happened to him since the snap - or "Decimation" as it's said to be known in the movie - other than something caused him to take on a new identity as 'Ronin', and that Romanoff will be the one to hunt him down.

Avengers Endgame | Moustache Trailer Reaction

The trailer for Avengers: Endgame has finally arrived. No doubt you've already seen it, but if not you can check it out below. Well, it seems things are looking even bleaker than they did at the end of Infinity War. Tony is stranded in space, onboard what appears to be the Milano. There is a glimpse of Nebula at one point. The question is; what caused the ship to be so badly damaged? Was it the battle with Thanos on Titan? Or has something happened in the interim? Whatever it was, it seems Tony has finally come across a piece of technology even he can't fix, and is pretty much at breaking point.  The rest of the team are still on Earth, reeling from the moment in which Thanos snapped his finger and half the population of the galaxy disappeared. But at least Steve managed to find a moment to shave his beard. He and Romanoff have some sort of plan in mind, enough for Steve to break out the stealth suit from Captain America: The Winter Soldier and his lucky compass,

Avengers: Infinity War | Average Guy Movie Review

It has been ten years since Iron Man first flew into cinemas. In that time fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have enjoyed a rollercoaster ride of awesome movies...and some not so awesome movies. But all great things must come to an end, and the culmination of the last ten years has begun with Avengers: Infinity War. Picking up where Thor: Ragnarok left off, things aren't looking good for our heroes; the Avengers are divided, half of them are wanted by the authorities, Thor and Banner are far from Earth and have just encountered Thanos' ship; Sanctuary 2. The Mad Titan is planning to wipe out half of all life in the universe and to do that he needs all six Infinity Stones. And the only people standing in his way aren't talking right now, but they do have some new friends to help them, including the Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange, Black Panther and the armies of Wakanda. But will that be enough? The Russo Brothers have once again delivered. There ar

Avengers: Infinity War | Theories

Avengers: Infinity War is said to be the most anticipated upcoming comicbook movie. As usual, Marvel Studios are playing things close to the vest. According to Elizabeth Olsen, the cast only received their individual pages of the script. In one of his scenes, Tom Holland didn't even know who he was fighting! Given all this it's really no surprise that Infinity War is the subject of rumour and mass speculation. Recently Screen Rant posted a list of "18 Insane Avengers: Infinity War Rumours That'll Blow You Away" (click here to read the full article), here are the ones I found most interesting... Quicksilver will be Resurrected At the end of Age of Ultron, Pietro Maximoff gave his life to save Hawkeye and a young boy. But we all know that death doesn't seem to mean much in the MCU. According to Screen Rant, Kevin Feige has promised that Infinity War will include every hero that has appeared in the MCU. But did he just mean the ones that are still l

Captain America: Civil War: Average Guy Movie Review

The Russo Brothers have kicked off Phase 3 of the MCU with Captain America: Civil War. In his third solo outing, the man out of time must watch his team and his friends get torn apart at a time when his new life collides with the old one. After a mission goes bad, the Avengers are faced with the Sokovia Accords, a document that'll put them under the control of the UN. This decision pits the team against each other, with half wanting to keep their independence and the other half wanting to keep the team together and on the right side of the law. The biggest rivalry somes in the form of Steve vs Tony. Steve fears the "agendas" and corruption of politicians and wants the Avengers to remain independent; "the safest hands are still our own". Whereas Tony is still dealing with the guilt of the Ultron incident and is possibly still carrying the effects of Scarlett Witch's fear inducing vision, and therefore believes the Avengers should be held acco
