Uncharted: Drake's Companion

With the Tomb Raider reboot in full swing and Indiana Jones 5 set for a 2019 release, it seems that Sony is finally getting somewhere with the long delayed Uncharted movie. Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum, The Internship, Real Steel) has been attached to direct and Joe Carnahan (The A-Team, Smokin' Aces) shared a photo in January indicating he had completed a draft of the script. Last week it was announced that Tom Holland had been cast as Nathan 'Nate' Drake. Holland will play a young version of the character in a story inspired by that of the third game, in which Nate meets his friend and mentor; Victor 'Sully' Sullivan. But who will they get to play the smooth, moustachioed treasure hunter? Holland apparently would like to see Jake Gyllenhaal or Chris Pratt get the job, what do you think? Uncharted: Drake's Depiction

If there's one thing you can almost guarantee about Hollywood it's that it can't make a decent movie adaptation of a video game. I say almost because Michael Fassbender may prove me wrong very soon with Assassin's Creed. But look at the list: Super Mario Bros. Street Fighter Mortal Kombat Wing Commander Lara Croft: Tomb Raider + Cradle of Life Resident Evil + 5 sequels and a possible TV spinoff Doom DOA: Dead or Alive Hitman + Agent 47 Far Cry Max Payne Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Need for Speed Mediocre is a word that springs to mind. Even Warcraft: The Beginning has received mostly negative reviews despite being the highest grossing movie of all time based on a video game. So do I really want to see Nate and Sully hit the big screen? Or would Uncharted fans be better off with them staying in their PlayStations? Before you answer you should consider Tomb Raider; arguably very similar to Uncharted and those movies are terrible! Nate always m
