Moustache Lockdown Streaming Survival Guide Part 21 | Zack Snyder's Justice League

Well it has finally arrived; the long awaited "Snyder Cut" is here in all its glory - that's right, all four hours of it. Which means we actually have an answer to one of life's great questions (for movie geeks and comic book fans, anyway); was it worth the wait? As always, don't forget to check out our Moustache Lockdown Streaming Survival Guide in its glorious entirety, which you can find by clicking here . After the death of Superman (Henry Cavill), Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) fears an invasion is imminent, one not of this Earth. So in order to prepare, he goes in search of the metahumans that Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) uncovered, in order to form a team that could defend the Earth from any threat. But will he be able to find them in time? Before an ancient evil reveals itself. When I first saw the theatrical cut of Justice League back in 2017 my reaction was kind of 'meh', it's ok, had its moments, but it's nothing on the movies that went befor

Vice | Average Guy Movie Review

The life and career of Dick Cheney, brought to us by the man who managed to tell the story of the 2008 financial crisis and make it funny. Vice follows Cheney from his humble beginnings as a blue collar worker to being the most powerful Vice President in US history. Not so long ago, if you'd have said to me there's a movie coming out about Dick Cheney, I probably would have laughed at the idea. But mention that Adam McKay is writing and directing, and that changes everything. The man behind such comedy classics as Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby has already shown us he can do serious (kind of) with The Big Short. McKay was able to make the financial crisis understandable, in a light-hearted fashion that didn't underplay the seriousness of the situation. Now he has put his unique spin on the story of a man known for having absolutely no charisma whatsoever, and actually made him interesting...and funny. Helpi

Arrival: Average Guy Movie Review

When alien spacecraft appear at twelve random locations across the globe, the whole world scrambles to figure out where these ships have come from and why. In the US, linguist, Doctor Louise Banks (Amy Adams) is recruited by the government to establish communication with the aliens. A task made increasingly difficult by the rising tensions between host nations. Arrival is directed by Denis Villeneuve, the man behind Sicario, Prisoners and the upcoming Blade Runner 2049 and also stars Jeremy Renner, Forest Whitaker, Michael Stuhlbarg and Tzi Ma. In a way, Arrival resembles the first hour of Independence Day. The ships show up, many begin to panic and across the world, governments attempt to make contact. This is where the similarities pretty much end, instead of uber destruction porn you get a very tense, slow burn, drama. Although both movies share the underlying theme that it'll take a common goal and/or threat to truly unite the people of Earth. Carrying that weight of th

Why You SHOULD Watch the Ultimate Edition of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

This isn't going to be a long and detailed breakdown of the Ultimate Edition, however there are some spoilers ahead. I'm not going to go through every subtle difference in intricate detail. But I am going to explain why I think the Ultimate Edition is worth a watch. First of all, if you haven't seen Batman v Superman, don't bother with the theatrical cut. Go straight to the Ultimate Edition, it's by far the better version and not just because it's longer. The Ultimate Edition is what Zack Snyder wanted us to see, but it was cut for a lower age certificate and a shorter run time. Now I'm not sure that the changes are enough to make those who passionately hate the movie change their minds. But those who don't like the theatrical cut may be impressed by the changes, of which there are many. The extra thirty minutes go a long way towards plugging the gaps and plot holes in the story, including what happened in Africa and the aftermath, Clark&

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice: Average Guy Movie Review

After three years of waiting, it has finally arrived. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, possibly one of the most talked about, debated movies of recent years. But was it worth the wait? So far the critics have not been positive about this movie, in fact as I write this the rating on Rotten Tomatoes stands at 28%. However, the audience score is currently 72%, quite a difference of opinion! As the title of this post might suggest I'm not a movie critic, I'm just an average guy who loves movies, and yes I loved this movie. There's only one small part I didn't like, I'm not going to reveal it because I'm not in the habit of spoiling movies. I think it might be explained in the upcoming Justice League movies but right now, without context it's weird. I've heard Batman v Superman is too long, there's too much going on, too many characters, you need to see it twice. Dan Murrell of Screen Junkies described it as five movies in one: a sequel to
