Dune | Average Guy Movie Review

At a time when his family is called upon to protect the galaxy's most valuable resource; Spice - a material that can extend human life, makes interstellar travel possible, and is only found on the desert planet of Arrakis - Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) is trying to figure out if he's going to be the man everyone wants him to be. But with treachery closing in on House Atreides from all sides, and the Spice fields up for grabs, he's going to have to figure it out quick. The man who brought us an epic sequel to Blade Runner  has gone in search of an even bigger challenge, and the one he has set his heart on is Frank Herbert's sci-fi classic;  Dune . This highly influential novel has in the past proven rather difficult to adapt for both the big and small screen. Not that that would deter someone like Denis Villeneuve, for whom making Dune  has been a life-long ambition. Something that definitely shows in his recreation of this vast and rich universe. Everything is very

Dune | Moustache Trailer Reaction

Like one of the massive space ships that feature within it, the trailer for Denis Villeneuve's take on 'Dune' has landed... and it's magnificent. If you've not seen it, or you simply want to watch it again, you can check it out below: Trying to tame Frank Herbert's legendary sci-fi novel, it seems, is a challenge like no other. But if anyone is up to the task, it's a fair bet that it's Denis Villeneuve. The French-Canadian director is no stranger to reviving beloved sci-fi properties; Blade Runner 2049 is a worthy sequel to the original Blade Runner, and an outstanding movie in its own right - the best of 2017 in my opinion. Add to that his previous projects (Sicario, Arrival, Prisoners), and you've got a director with a talent for combining complex narratives, fascinating characters and stunning visuals, in a way that's both gripping and intelligible. From the moment the trailer begins you can feel the epic scale of what has been created here. G

Men In Black: International | Average Guy Movie Review

After a close encounter during her childhood, Molly Wright (Tessa Thompson) begins searching for the mysterious agency that polices alien life on Earth. Twenty years later, when she finally manages to track them down, she's able to avoid the wrong end of a neuralyser, bartering instead for employment. For her first assignment, O (Emma Thompson) sends her to the London branch, where she will be working with Agents H (Chris Hemsworth) and High T (Liam Neeson) to uncover a mole in the MIB - a first for the agency. But will they be able to find them in time to stop an invasion of Earth by a hostile alien race? After the popularity of Thor: Ragnarok and the genius pairing of Hemsworth and Thompson, many fans - including myself - were excited to see the pair reunite for a reboot/sequel to the Men In Black franchise. They may be playing vastly different characters to those seen in Ragnarok - a rogue who skates by more on luck than skill, and a logic driven/obsessed geek - but that

MEN IN BLACK: INTERNATIONAL | Moustache Trailer Reaction

The first trailer for Men in Black International has been released, and we decided to share our thoughts. If you haven't seen the trailer yet, you can check it out below. First things first, that is an impressive cast! Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Liam Neeson, Emma Thompson (that "Johnson and Johnson" joke from Die Hard comes to mind), Kumail Nanjiani, Rebecca Ferguson, and those are just the ones we've seen so far. Knowing this franchise we can at least expect a few interesting cameos. It was good to see Emma Thompson return after her appearance in MIB 3. Hopefully she'll get a bigger role this time. We know Hemsworth can do funny after his performances is Ghostbusters (2016) - he was arguably the best thing about it - and Thor Ragnarok. In fact, he looks very comfortable in his new role as Agent H - maybe a little too comfortable at one point. He and Tessa Thompson worked really well together in Ragnarok, and it looks like the magic will c

Mission: Impossible - Fallout | Average Guy Movie Review

When a mission failure results in three plutonium cores ending up in the wrong hands, the IMF is put under CIA overwatch. Things get even more complicated when it's discovered that that the group looking to acquire the plutonium - known as the Apostles - are the last remaining members of Solomon Lane's (Sean Harris) Syndicate. Their goal, cause a global catastrophe that will bring about a new world order. And the only link to the Apostles and the plutonium that Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his team have to work with is a mysterious arms dealer known as the White Widow (Vanessa Kirby). In the 22 years it has been around, the Mission: Impossible franchise has gone through many guises. Each movie is as different from the last as the men who direct them. Fallout may have the same director as Rogue Nation - a first for the franchise - but Christopher McQuarrie still manages to make this a very different movie. This one's a lot darker than previous instalments, the mission

Moustache Trailer Reactions | Mile 22 | Mission: Impossible - Fallout

Mission: Impossible - Fallout It appears that Solomon Lane (Sean Harris) isn't done causing trouble for Ethan Hunt and the IMF. His escape re-ignites the rivalry between the Impossible Mission Force and their sister agency, the CIA. A matter only made worse by Hunt's determination to be the one to bring Lane in. Fallout is said to focus more on Hunt's personal life, which might explain said determination. Michelle Monaghan returns as Ethan's wife Julia. There's a shot in the trailer of the two of them taking part in some sort of wedding ceremony, only for what appears to be a nuclear explosion to be seen in the distance. Now, the Mission: Impossible movies aren't known for their dream sequences but there's a chance that's what this is. All of the team are back bar Jeremy Renner's William Brandt, Renner was busy working on the Avengers sequels. Alec Baldwin is back as the newly crowned Secretary of the IMF and we're introduced

The Girl on the Train: Average Guy Movie Review

Paula Hawkins book The Girl on the Train has hit the silver screen with Emily Blunt in the starring role. Blunt plays Rachel, an alcoholic who gets the train into New York every day, which takes her past her old house. Not only does Rachel's ex-husband Tom (Justin Theroux) still live in the house with his new wife Anna (Rebecca Ferguson), but Rachel has developed an obsession with the seemingly perfect couple - Megan (Haley Bennett) and Scott (Luke Evans) - that live two doors down. When Megan goes missing, Rachel manages to get herself caught up in the investigation. I've heard a lot of people comparing this movie to Gone Girl, don't do that. The Girl on the Train isn't Gone Girl but it  is a very intelligent mystery thriller in its own right. It's the story of three damaged women - Rachel, Megan and Anna - and their intertwining lives. Performances all round are very good, Blunt's portrayal of alcoholism is very believable on all levels ranging from
