After a brief hiatus - mainly to go see Deadpool & Wolverine  - I'm back to rewatching the X-Men  movies. As with Part 1  it's a mixed bag of movies, with some legendary highs, some rather unfortunate lows, and very little in between. For every Logan  there's an Apocalypse , I guess. So Logan survived his little adventure in Japan, only to come face to face with two old friends seeking his help with a coming threat. Cut to a few years later and the world has been ravaged by war, but I don't think that's Logan's fault. Days of Future Past  is certainly one of the more ambitious X-Men  movies, and it pays off. So... Deadpool & Wolverine . They're bringing the X-Men  and many more Fox  characters into the MCU . It is a movie phenomenon of epic proportions, not only seeing the oddball pair finally team up, but seeing them bring one cinematic universe into another. What will that mean for the MCU ? How many of these beloved characters will they bring over, and will they be played by the same actors? Yes and no, I guess. There are many questions surrounding this monumental cinematic event, and some of the answers may still be a long way off. On the bright side, that means there's plenty of time to revisit every movie in Fox's X-Men  franchise, which is exactly what I've done. The second trailer for Dark Phoenix - the latest movie in the X-Men franchise, and the last under 20th Century Fox - has landed. And if you're keen to avoid spoilers, stop reading now! More importantly, don't watch the trailer because the spoiler contained within is massive. As both a movie fan and a blogger, I usually enjoy watching trailers. I like to get an idea of what I'm in for, but despite how awesome Dark Phoenix looks because of this trailer, I genuinely regret watching it, and it's all thanks to the aforementioned spoiler. Check out the Red Band Trailer below... From Director David Leitch, half of the directing team behind John Wick comes cold war, action-thriller...Atomic Blonde. Charlize Theron stars as Lorraine Broughton, a spy for MI6 tasked with investigating the death of an agent and retrieving a list of double agents. Starring alongside Theron are James McAvoy, Sofia Boutella, John Goodman, Toby Jones and Eddie Marsan. Broughton looks to be a combination of James Bond, Jason Bourne and Evelyn Salt. But given the director's previous work I'd say she's more like John Wick's sister. From the looks of the trailer, it appears Theron has had similar training as Keanu Reeves had, and she looks very capable. The final instalment of the 'First Class' story arc has arrived, Apocalypse is awoken and he's more than slightly pissed off! But to be fair, D.I. Alex Drake (Keeley Hawes) wasn't too impressed when she woke up in the early eighties either (yes I made an Ashes to Ashes reference). Bryan Singer brings us back to the mutant story ten years after the events of Days of Future Past, it's 1983 and human/mutant relations are better after the world saw Mystique save President Nixon. Charles Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters is prospering, Mystique continues to fight for mutant freedom and Magneto has gone into hiding. Apocalypse or En Sabah Nur as he's also known sees himself as a god and means to rule the world. When awoken, he's displeased with what the world has become so he begins to gather his new Horsemen; four of the most powerful mutants whom he makes more powerful.   Oscar Isaac delivers a great performance as the world's first mutan...
