Venom: Let There Be Carnage | Average Guy Movie Review

After a year of living together, the relationship between Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and Venom (also Tom Hardy) is strained. While Venom wants to get out there and munch on bad guys, Eddie is trying to keep a low profile as he tries to get his life back together. But when the pair visit Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson), Venom accidentally shares a piece of himself with the death row inmate, resulting in the emergence of a new symbiote - Carnage. This allows Kasady to escape his execution and bring chaos to San Francisco. And the only one(s) who can stop him, aren't getting along right now. Sony's superpowered antihero odd couple are back, and with the both of them stuck in Eddie Brock's body, things are getting tense. Imagine what it would be like sharing your body with a toddler on a sugar rush, that's Eddie's life with Venom.  How do you enforce rules on a being that's a) more powerful than you, and b) can control your body? The answer being; with great difficulty...

No Time To Die | Average Guy Movie Review

After the events of Spectre , James Bond (Daniel Craig) rode off into the sunset, or at least he drove. He and Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux) went in search of a more peaceful life. But they never found it, and five years later Bond is living a solitary retirement in Jamaica. That is until Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) shows up with a favour to ask, dragging Bond back into the world he has tried so desperately to leave behind. It's hard to believe we've waited almost two years for No Time To Die  to hit cinemas. Fourth release is the charm, I guess. And what a wait it has been; roughly two years spent wondering how this James Bond would bow out. Once again Daniel Craig shows us a different side to the super spy, as his relationship with Madeleine Swann becomes the central focus. D rawing inspiration from  On Her Majesty's Secret Service  (an unforeseen but brilliant move, even if it does mean enduring Louis Armstrong's 'We Have All The Time In The World'), the mo...

Rampage | Average Guy Movie Review

When three animals - including an albino gorilla named George -  are exposed to a pathogen, their DNA is combined with that of other animals, causing them to mutate into massive animal hybrids. In order to stop them, Primatologist Davis Okoye (Dwayne Johnson), the man responsible for George's care must team up with Geneticist Dr. Kate Caldwell (Naomie Harris) and government agent Harvey Russell (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). But to do so, they'll have to contend with the military's attempts to destroy the creatures and a shady corporation responsible trying to cover up their involvement. Now I know what you are thinking, this movie looks really stupid. And you would be right, it's big, stupid, cheesy, over the top nonsense. But despite all that, it's actually quite fun! A lot of that is down to the big man, no not George, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. If anyone else made this movie it would be relegated to the same category as Sharknado and its many sequel...

Our Kind of Traitor: Average Guy Movie Review

For Christmas, a member of the family often gets a dvd or blu-ray. In my family it's usually me, I know...you're shocked! Last Christmas (it already seems so far away) my sister got me Our Kind of Traitor, a movie I really wanted to see when it first came out but never got the chance. Well I can say it was well worth the wait! While on holiday in Morocco, Perry (Ewan McGregor) and Gail (Naomie Harris) meet Dima (Stellan Skarsgard) who unbeknownst to them is a high ranking accountant for the Russian mafia. After inviting them to his teenage daughter's outlandish birthday party, Dima gives Perry a memory stick which he asks him to deliver to MI6. The memory stick contains information linking British politicians to corruption, Dima wants to use the information and his testimony as a bargaining chip for asylum   for his family  in the UK. With the mafia closing in and corrupt politicians attempting to block the deal, Perry and Gail have to work with Hector (Damian ...
