JOJO RABBIT | Moustache Trailer Reaction

The new trailer for Jojo Rabbit is here, and it still looks like the maddest movie we've seen in a long time! If you haven't seen the trailer yet, check it out below: Lets face it, you see a child charging through the woods with a grenade whilst a rather eccentric looking man - with a funny moustache - frolics along beside him, all to the sound of Smash Mouth's "I'm a Believer" (in German of course), you know you're about to watch something special. Although the shot of the kid throwing his knife at a tree only for it to bounce back into his friend's leg is still one of the funniest things I've seen in film. But with this new trailer we're starting to see the more serious side to Taika Waititi's anti-hate satire (based on the book "Caging Skies" by Christine Leunens). Jojo (Roman Griffin Davis) is just a lonely kid, one who desperately wants to belong, and in order to do so has bought into Nazism. But his

JOJO RABBIT | Moustache Teaser Reaction

If Top Gun: Maverick is the most exciting teaser of late, then the teaser trailer for "Jojo Rabbit" has got to be the most bizarre. If you haven't seen it, check it out below: Taika Waititi's latest movie is based on the book "Caging Skies" by Christine Leunens, and tells the story of Jojo "Rabbit" Betzler (Roman Griffin Davis). A member of the Hitler Youth, Jojo's world view is turned upside down when he discovers his single mother (Scarlett Johansson) is hiding a young Jewish girl in their attic. And the only person he has to turn to as he attempts to deal with all that he's going through, is his imaginary friend...Adolf Hitler (Taika Waititi). Now I know what you're thinking; "this sounds bat shit insane!" And to be fair, you're probably right. But Jojo Rabbit looks - in true Waititi fashion - absolutely hysterical. It is definitely something you have to see to believe, and that's just the trail

Vice | Average Guy Movie Review

The life and career of Dick Cheney, brought to us by the man who managed to tell the story of the 2008 financial crisis and make it funny. Vice follows Cheney from his humble beginnings as a blue collar worker to being the most powerful Vice President in US history. Not so long ago, if you'd have said to me there's a movie coming out about Dick Cheney, I probably would have laughed at the idea. But mention that Adam McKay is writing and directing, and that changes everything. The man behind such comedy classics as Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby has already shown us he can do serious (kind of) with The Big Short. McKay was able to make the financial crisis understandable, in a light-hearted fashion that didn't underplay the seriousness of the situation. Now he has put his unique spin on the story of a man known for having absolutely no charisma whatsoever, and actually made him interesting...and funny. Helpi

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri | Average Guy Movie Review

When the murder of her daughter goes unsolved, Mildred (Frances McDormand) hires three billboards outside her home town to express her frustration. A move that polarises the town of Ebbing, Missouri and pits the entire police department against her - especially the infamous Officer Dixon (Sam Rockwell). It's a story of pain that comes from a lack of closure, from being denied justice. Despite her good intentions, Mildred's actions start to have a detrimental effects on all those around her, including her son Robbie (Lucas Hedges) and Police Chief Bill Willoughby (Woody Harrelson). Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri is a darkly comedic tragedy from the man who brought us In Bruges and Seven Psychopaths. Writer/Director Martin McDonagh was inspired to write this story when - while travelling - he spotted three billboards reporting an unsolved crime. According to the director "the rage that put a bunch of billboards like that up was palpable and stayed with me
