Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny | Average Guy Movie Review

It's 1969, Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) is about to retire, when out of the blue his goddaughter Helena (Phoebe Waller-Bridge) shows up with questions about an ancient artifact known as the Antikythera. But she's not the only person looking for it. Jürgen Voller (Mads Mikkelsen) - a Nazi scientist - is also on the trail, and he intends to use the Antikythera to correct what he sees as the mistakes of the past. Making it a race against time for Indy and his new found friend to make sure the past stays the way it is. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny  - awful title, I know -  explodes on to screen with a de-aged Indy and his friend Baz (Toby Jones) causing the retreating German army trouble in 1944. It's the perfect way to kick off what is meant to be Ford's final movie with the fedora and whip - with a lunatic escapade to recover a piece of history, reminiscent of the crusading archaeologist's classic adventures. The technology used to de-age Hollywood's gru

Le Mans '66 | Average Guy Movie Review

Also known as Ford v Ferrari, this is the story of Ford's battle to beat Ferrari at Le Mans. Racing veterans Carroll Shelby (Matt Damon) and Ken Miles (Christian Bale) are caught in an up-hill struggle with Ford executives, as they spearhead the development of a car that can go head to head with the Italian racing pedigree. Based on the book "Go Like Hell" by A. J. Baime, "Logan" director James Mangold tells the story of one of racing's great rivalries. In the early 1960's, Henry Ford II (Tracy Letts) looked to improve sales by investing in a racing team. But when a deal to purchase Ferrari fell through - resulting in some animosity between Ford and old Enzo Ferrari (Remo Girone) - the man from Michigan was determined to have his revenge, by winning the Ferrari dominated Le Mans 24 hour race. Now you're probably thinking that a story like this is all about the racing, well you'd be half-way right. There are indeed a lot of scenes featurin

James Mangold to Direct a Boba Fett Solo Movie

According to The Hollywood Reporter, James Mangold - director of Logan, 3:10 to Yuma and Walk the Line - has been chosen to write and direct a stand-alone movie about Boba Fett. Sources are also reporting that Mangold will re-team with his Logan producer, Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past, The Martian, Deadpool 1&2) who will act as co-writer and producer on the project. The galaxy's most infamous Bounty Hunter made his first appearance in an animated segment of the equally infamous Star Wars Holiday Special, although most fans first saw him in The Empire Strikes Back. Played by Jeremy Bulloch in Empire, the character quickly became a fan favourite after he tracked the Millennium Falcon for the Empire and delivered Han Solo - frozen in carbonite - to Jabba the Hutt. Despite this popularity, Fett suffered what most consider to be a poor, almost slapstick end in Return of the Jedi. When George Lucas was working on the prequel trilogy he took opportunity

Logan: Average Guy Movie Review

Over the last 17 years, Hugh Jackman has portrayed Logan in nine different movies. It's fair to say that some of the movies didn't impress, however Jackman has always done a brilliant job of bringing the character to life. It seems both poetic and punishing that Wolverine's last ride should also be his best. But it's better to see him go out with a bang rather than watch him try to cling to past glory. Logan is less of a comicbook movie and more a character driven action/adventure/drama. Set in the year 2029, almost all mutants are gone and Logan's healing abilities are diminishing, leaving him in constant pain. With the help of Caliban (Stephen Merchant) - a mutant who can sense other mutants - Logan is caring for an ailing Professor Xavier. The Professor is suffering from a degenerative brain disorder which causes him to have powerful seizures that can be devastating to those around him. The appearance of a woman and her mysterious daughter will force Log
