REACHER Season 2 | Moustache Trailer Reaction

Once again Lee Child's literary character leaps from the page to the screen in the trailer for Reacher season 2. Check it out below. After introducing a new take on Jack Reacher - one much closer to Lee Child's vision - with a clever adaptation of the first novel Killing Floor , Alan Ritchson is back as the drifter/ex-military cop. It's a role he handles very well - both in performance and stature - and if the trailer is anything to go by Reacher's more unstoppable than ever! Watching him take care of a car jacker with extreme efficiency is not only incredibly enjoyable, it perfectly captures what fans love about this character. The second season is based on one of my favourite of the Reacher novels; Bad Luck and Trouble . Once again they've chosen a book in which Reacher has a personal stake in the situation, something that goes way beyond his everyday hatred of bad people - like the aforementioned car jacker. When members of his old team start showing up dead, Rea...

Amazon is Developing a Jack Reacher Series

Amazon has won the rights to develop a show based on the novels by Lee Child for their streaming service. The show will be produced by Amazon, along with Skydance Television and Paramount Television, and will follow the ex-military drifter as he travels the US, single-handedly solving problems and fighting crime. Think of Reacher as a one man A-Team. The character was previously played by Tom Cruise in two movies (Jack Reacher and Jack Reacher: Never Go Back), based on the eleventh and eighteenth books in the series. Christopher McQuarrie, who acted as writer/director on the first movie and producer on the second, will serve as executive producer on the show. This is to be the third series of novels developed by Amazon Studios into a TV show. Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch novels are the source for one of the studios longest running shows; 'Bosch', starring Titus Welliver as the veteran LAPD Homicide Detective. Last year 'Jack Ryan' - based on the novel...

A Jack Reacher Reboot?

According to Lee Child, Tom Cruise will no longer be playing Jack Reacher. The ex-Military Cop is getting a reboot to the small screen. Cruise played Reacher in two movies; Jack Reacher and Jack Reacher: Never Go Back. Child - who has written 23 novels and 11 short stories about Reacher - told BBC Radio Manchester's Mike Sweeney "The size of Reacher is really important and it's a big component of who he is. The idea is that when Reacher walks into a room, you're a little nervous just for that first minute. And Cruise, for all his talent, didn't have that physicality." As a fan of the books, I thought Cruise did a good job with the role. His height wasn't an issue for me. I was more interested in a good performance, which is what I got. While it is true that fans have complained about Cruise's height since his casting in 2011, the real reason for this new direction will be the disappointing returns that resulted from fan backlash. Jack Reache...

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back: Average Guy Movie Review

Lee Child's drifter ex-military cop is back in cinemas with Jack Reacher: Never Go Back. Based on the 18th book in the series, Reacher returns to the HQ of his old Army unit - the 110th MP - to meet Major Susan Turner (Cobie Smulders), the soldier who has his old job. But when Reacher arrives, someone starts following him, Turner is under arrest for espionage, two of her soldiers are dead...and Reacher finds out he might be a Dad.  After Jack Reacher got mixed reviews back in 2012, it was uncertain as to whether there would be a sequel. But worldwide box office takings of $218 million almost guaranteed it. Edward Zwick takes over writing and directing duties from Christopher McQuarrie in his first collaboration with Cruise since The Last Samurai. Not to belittle what McQuarrie did, but I think Never Go Back is actually better than the first movie. Where the plot of the original can feel a bit clunky, Never Go Back seems to flow. If I had to guess, I'd say it'...

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back: Moustache Trailer Reaction

My favourite literary character is returning to the big screen this October, and the first trailer has finally arrived. Jack Reacher: Never Go Back picks up with the nomadic former Military Policeman four years after the first movie. Reacher (Tom Cruise) returns to his old unit to meet the new commanding officer, Susan Turner (Cobie Smulders). On arrival he discovers he's wanted for a 16 year old homicide and Turner has been arrested for espionage. "I don't like being followed" Never Go Back is based on the novel of the same name which is the eighteenth book in the series. In the books the story is part of an arc that spans four books, Reacher first makes contact with Susan Turner in "61 Hours" (book 14); whilst investigating the murder of a police officer and protecting a witness he contacts his old unit looking for information. Speaking to Turner on the phone, Reacher decides he'd like to meet her so he begins making his way to his o...
