The God of Thunder returns in his third solo outing and this time he must save Asgard from Cate Blanchett's Hela, the Goddess of Death. But not before he escapes the clutches of The Grand Master (Jeff Goldblum), who forces Thor to participate in a gladiatorial match with his "friend from work". By adding his unique, nutty humour into the mix, director Taika Waititi takes Thor and the MCU in a new direction. Ragnarok is dark and serious and light and funny, all at the same time, and Waititi manages to strike a perfect balance between the two. Despite all of the changes - well tweaks - this still looks like a Thor movie, they haven't tried to distance Ragnarok from the previous entries. But whereas the first two did feel kind of separate from the galaxy we see in Guardians, this one bridges the gap by bringing Asgard into the wider universe. Avengers: Infinity War is said to be the most anticipated upcoming comicbook movie. As usual, Marvel Studios are playing things close to the vest. According to Elizabeth Olsen, the cast only received their individual pages of the script. In one of his scenes, Tom Holland didn't even know who he was fighting! The first teaser for Marvel Studios' Black Panther has landed and it certainly fuels curiosity. After an explosive entry into the MCU in Captain America: Civil War last year, things are looking good for T'Challa's first solo outing. Directed by Creed's Ryan Coogler, the movie follows the events of Civil War. T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) returns home to Wakanda as king, but his reign is soon challenged by Michael B. Jordan's Erik Killmonger, a Wakandan exile. Also involved - somehow - is Ulysses Klaue (Andy Serkis), a smuggler interested in Wakanda's vast resources. In order to combat this threat, T'Challa will team up with CIA agent - and head of the Joint Counter Terrorism Center - Everett K. Ross (Martin Freeman) and the Dora Milaje, Wakandan special forces responsible for protecting the king. The trailer doesn't give very much away. Today the first poster for Marvel Studios' Black Panther movie was released. The poster sees T'Challa - dressed in his Black Panther suit - sitting on the Wakandan throne. Disney released a statement regarding the movie's synopsis: Marvel Studios' "Black Panther" follows T'Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. The adventures of Groot and co. continue in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and lets face it, everyone is desperate to see Baby Groot in action. After saving the galaxy from Ronan the Accuser the Guardians are working as mercenaries, offering their services to the highest bidder. When one of the team (shall we say) liberates a precious item from one of their clients it triggers a chain of events that not only lead to Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) meeting his father, Ego (Kurt Russell) but to the Guardians having to save the galaxy once again. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has been described as a continuation of the team's story rather than a sequel and that's pretty accurate.  As with all sequels, James Gunn is able to expand the universe, he  stated in an interview that most of the unanswered questions from the first movie would be answered in Vol. 2. The teaser trailer hints at what Thor (and one of his work colleagues) was up to while the rest of the Avengers were falling out back on Earth.   It appears that Asgard falls victim to Hela (Cate Blanchett), who according to Blanchett "has been locked away for millenia getting more and more cross". After seeing Hela destroy Mjolnir, Thor finds himself in the hands of the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) on the planet Sakaar. There he is forced to fight in a gladiatorial arena and one of his opponents is the Hulk. The big green rage monster is said to be more than just...well a big green rage monster like in previous movies. In fact Ruffalo describes him as having "swagger". The man most notably missing from Civil War wasn't Hulk or Thor, their absences were mentioned. No, it was Colonel Nick Fury who was missed the most. Probably because if present he would have slapped Secretary of State Ross and found a way to reunite the Avengers before they really split. What was so important that Fury didn't emerge from the shadows? With only two movies left on Samuel L. Jackson's contract, what is Fury's next movie? Infinity Wars? There was talk of a Nick Fury movie, I assume some form of origin story. To me this would be an interesting origin to explore, especially after hearing the Bogota story from The Winter Soldier. But there are some who are bored of origin stories, though I think that's more to do with the const ant reboots of franchises like Batman and Spider-Man. It would also mean hiring a younger actor to play young Fury. Who could play a young Samuel L. Jackson? It's plain to see that Jackson has made the role of Fury h

The Infinity Stones - as explained by the Collector in Guardians of the Galaxy - are singularities left over from the Big Bang. At the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor points out that several Infinity Stones have shown up in the last few years, five to be exact. Kevin Feige has stated that the remaining stone will be revealed at some point in Phase 3, but when can we expect that and how will it tie in to the story? The five stones that have been uncovered are: The Space Stone , contained within the Tesseract, was hidden on Earth for centuries. Until 1942 when it was taken by the Red Skull, who used it to power his inventions. At the end of the war it was recovered by Howard Stark on behalf of the Strategic Scientific Reserve. It remained in the custody of S.H.I.E.L.D. until Loki stole it and used it to open a portal to the other side of the galaxy in an attempt to take over the world. Whereas Loki's goal was to rule Earth, his benefactor/Boss Thanos, had bigger plans
