So I thought it might be helpful to point out some great movies and TV shows available on streaming that could help break the boredom. In part 1 I'm looking at Star Trek: Picard on Amazon Prime. It has been twenty years since the events of Star Trek: Nemesis, Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) has retired from Starfleet and is living out his days on the family vineyard. But when a young woman comes to him for help, Picard must journey into the dark void of space once again. Only this time he's doing it without Starfleet, forcing him to find a ship, and more importantly a crew willing to help him in his mission. Returning to one of the signature roles of your career can be risky, especially when the character is as beloved as Jean-Luc Picard. It seems that a fairly common occurrence amongst movies tied to Warner Bros. is the magical disappearing/reappearing director. Does that mean there's hope for the Snyder Cut? I certainly hope so! Ever since Justice League hit cinemas in 2017 - possibly even before - fans have been calling for Zack Snyder's original vision to be released. Snyder famously faced issues regarding the darker tone and longer run times his movies were taking, especially after the negative response to 'Batman v Superman'. This of course led to rewrites of the superhero team-up movie, and certain plotlines established or teased in 'BvS' - including the epic Knightmare scene - being dropped. The director then left the production after the tragic death of his daughter. Joss Whedon was brought in by the studio to finish the movie, this included the completion of post production and some major reshoots, further altering the movie. After ten years of living in hiding on Earth, a supersonic hedgehog named... errr... Sonic is a tad bored, not to mention lonely. But when an over-use of his powers draws the attention of a crazy, moustachioed scientist, Sonic must turn to the local Sheriff for help. Can they get him to safety before the evil moustache... I mean scientist catches up with them? If you're looking for some way to entertain your children, you can't go far wrong with a hyperactive, blue hedgehog. Sonic the Hedgehog is a good family film, one that will keep your little ones glued to the screen, and you mildly entertained. The story takes the well established computer game characters and plants them in a generic road trip movie. Sonic is in trouble and he goes to Sheriff Tom Wachowski (James Marsden) in the hope that he can help. Together they go on a journey of discovery whilst also going on a literal journey to escape Robotnik. This does provide a couple of interesting life lessons for chil
