We've seen the Avengers unite to save the world in the MCU, now it's time for Netflix to unite their four Marvel heroes so they can save New York from...Sigourney Weaver. The first season will become available on Netflix on 18th August 2017, but the first trailer has finally arrived and the show looks epic!  From the trailer we learn that Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) has got caught up in a major investigation that Misty Knight (Simone Missick) is running. Not only that, Jones' actions have resulted in the death of someone important to the investigation, someone she was trying to protect. It's at this point that Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) shows up to act as Jones' lawyer. Meanwhile, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) is contemplating his future. The adventures of Groot and co. continue in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and lets face it, everyone is desperate to see Baby Groot in action. After saving the galaxy from Ronan the Accuser the Guardians are working as mercenaries, offering their services to the highest bidder. When one of the team (shall we say) liberates a precious item from one of their clients it triggers a chain of events that not only lead to Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) meeting his father, Ego (Kurt Russell) but to the Guardians having to save the galaxy once again. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has been described as a continuation of the team's story rather than a sequel and that's pretty accurate.  As with all sequels, James Gunn is able to expand the universe, he  stated in an interview that most of the unanswered questions from the first movie would be answered in Vol. 2. Scarlett Johansson stars as the Major in Ghost in the Shell, based on the manga series of the same name. In a world where most humans are cybernetically enhanced, Major is the next step - a human brain in a robotic body. She's part of a counter terrorism team known as Section 9. When Hanka Robotics executives are murdered and their brains hacked, Section 9 find themselves on the trail of a mysterious hacker known as Kuze (Michael Pitt).  Before I get into the review I must point out that I've never seen the 1995 original or any of its sequels/spin-offs, I can't say what has changed and what has been lost in the transition from anime to live action. I do know that the remake borrows story points from across the franchise. To me, Ghost in the Shell feels like Blade Runner meets RoboCop. Over the last 17 years, Hugh Jackman has portrayed Logan in nine different movies. It's fair to say that some of the movies didn't impress, however Jackman has always done a brilliant job of bringing the character to life. It seems both poetic and punishing that Wolverine's last ride should also be his best. But it's better to see him go out with a bang rather than watch him try to cling to past glory. Logan is less of a comicbook movie and more a character driven action/adventure/drama. Set in the year 2029, almost all mutants are gone and Logan's healing abilities are diminishing, leaving him in constant pain. With the help of Caliban (Stephen Merchant) - a mutant who can sense other mutants - Logan is caring for an ailing Professor Xavier. The Professor is suffering from a degenerative brain disorder which causes him to have powerful seizures that can be devastating to those around him. Robert Zemeckis takes us back to one of the golden ages of espionage in this World War 2 drama. Allied tells the story of Max Vatan (Brad Pitt) and Marianne Beausejour (Marion Cotillard), a Canadian spy - working for British Intelligence - and a French Resistance member who fall in love during a mission in Casablanca. After the mission they head to London, where they marry and have a child. Their happiness is soon threatened when Max's superiors inform him that Marianne may be a German spy and is the subject of a "Blue Dye" operation. Now, defying orders, Max must fight to prove his wife's innocence or face executing her himself. Zemeckis has done a great job of recreating the war era, everything looks very authentic. Allied was nominated for the Oscar for Best Costume Design. Filming took place in Grand Canaria and London, both locations look incredible.
