Angel Has Fallen | Average Guy Movie Review

When Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) is framed for an attempt on President Trumbull's (Morgan Freeman) life, he must go on the run in order to prove his innocence. But with law enforcement and the real attackers on his trail, Banning must turn to the last person he'd choose, for help. The question is; can he expose the conspirators in time to save the President? The Scottish/American hero is back once again to save the President, only this time it's his turn to fall - from grace that is. If Olympus Has Fallen is Die Hard in the White House, and London Has Fallen is basically Die Hard 2, Angel Has Fallen is definitely The Fugitive. For the most part it is another instalment in the Mike Banning on the war path franchise, but director Rick Roman Waugh has at least tried to change things up with Angel. More importantly, he has dialled back the cheese. Olympus was cheesy, London took it to an unnecessary level, so it was quite refreshing that Banning isn't spouting ch

The Informer | Average Guy Movie Review

When a sting operation goes horribly wrong, FBI informant Pete Koslow (Joel Kinnaman) is forced to return to the prison he's desperately trying to avoid in order to infiltrate the Polish mob. But while he gathers evidence on the inside, the FBI higher ups are getting cold feet on the outside, and with a detective from the NYPD sniffing around, things only get worse. When his and his family's safety is put in jeopardy, Pete must take matters into his own hands. Andrea Di Stefano's The Informer is a pretty average look at the world of informants and undercover investigations. It unfortunately suffers from a crammed plot, including all the clichés of a crime thriller and a prison movie as well. Joel Kinnaman does well as Pete Koslow, a man with everything to lose. Instead of the typical Hollywood tough guy, Koslow is a flawed man just trying to do the right thing. And whilst he is very capable, he's also under a lot of pressure and scared, something that comes acro

Bad Boys For Life | Moustache Trailer Reaction

The first trailer for Bad Boys For Life is here, and it's filled with the type of carnage only Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) and Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) can create. Taking over directing duties from Michael Bay are Belgian directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. Will they be able to bring the "Bayhem"? Judging by the trailer, it would appear so. If you haven't seen the trailer yet, check it out below. It seems that the boys are starting to show their years as they get ready to take on another major player in Miami's seedy underworld - said to be a drug cartel leader named Armando Armas and played by Jacob Scipio. The phrase "one last time" comes up a lot, and Burnett needs glasses. There's even talk of retirement, but will they actually hand in their badges? Who knows, but we have seen this type of talk before; Burnett was going to break up the partnership in Bad Boys 2, but he didn't. Apart from that, Burnett and Lowrey are fi

JOJO RABBIT | Moustache Trailer Reaction

The new trailer for Jojo Rabbit is here, and it still looks like the maddest movie we've seen in a long time! If you haven't seen the trailer yet, check it out below: Lets face it, you see a child charging through the woods with a grenade whilst a rather eccentric looking man - with a funny moustache - frolics along beside him, all to the sound of Smash Mouth's "I'm a Believer" (in German of course), you know you're about to watch something special. Although the shot of the kid throwing his knife at a tree only for it to bounce back into his friend's leg is still one of the funniest things I've seen in film. But with this new trailer we're starting to see the more serious side to Taika Waititi's anti-hate satire (based on the book "Caging Skies" by Christine Leunens). Jojo (Roman Griffin Davis) is just a lonely kid, one who desperately wants to belong, and in order to do so has bought into Nazism. But his

Hobbs and Shaw | Average Guy Movie Review

When a deadly virus goes missing in London, the CIA recruit Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) to retrieve it. But they're not the only ones looking for it, a mysterious organisation has big plans for the virus and have dispatched Brixton Law (Idris Elba) - a cybernetically enhanced superhuman - to find the person who has it and steal it from them. That person is Hattie (Vanessa Kirby), a rogue MI-6 agent who just happens to be Deckard's sister. If these three want to keep the virus out of the wrong hands, they're going to have to learn to work together, that's if they don't kill each other first. When I first heard that a spin-off from Fast and Furious was in the works, my reaction was not positive. I am not a fan of this franchise, I was once but after the first three movies my interest died a very quick death. Then I heard David Leitch was directing - one half of the pair responsible for John Wick and the man behind Atomic Blonde

Once Upon A Time...In Hollywood | Average Guy Movie Review

Hollywood 1969, fading TV actor Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his stuntman Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) struggle to find work, as young actors like Sharon Tate (Margot Robbie) see their stars begin to rise. But all is not well in Los Angeles, there's something rotten underneath that shiny veneer. And as the Spaghetti Westerns come calling for Rick, offering new work and popularity, he and Cliff may come home to find L.A. a very different place. Quentin Tarantino's ninth movie is his love letter to Los Angeles and old Hollywood, at a time when its glory days were coming to an end. The glitz, the glamour, the ridiculous sized cars and some questionable fashion choices. There's even a tribute to Tarantino's love of film. But this is still a Tarantino movie, and as with all of his movies you don't really know what you're going to get - apart from great characters, an engrossing story and some gory violence. All of which can definitely be said of Once

Dates for Phase 5 of the MCU may have been Leaked

After unveiling Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe at Comic Con last month, it's believed that plans for Phase 5 will be announced at D23. But have some of the release dates may have already been leaked? A pretty good line up! Charles Murphy ( @_CharlesMurphy ) - someone who is known for revealing accurate info - has tweeted possible release dates for two upcoming movies. According to Murphy (which "could be subject to change"), Black Panther 2 will arrive in cinemas on 18th February 2022, and will be followed by Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 on 6th May 2022. These dates are similar to the movies that preceded them, Black Panther was released on 13th February 2018 and GOTG Vol. 2 on 27th April 2017. Both movies had a lot of success in their respective slots, so it makes sense that Marvel would attempt to continue that success with future instalments. It has also been confirmed by James Gunn, that he won't be working on GOTG Vol. 3 until after he'
