It seems that Pixar are looking to reclaim their title as the definitive name in 3D animation movies and with Finding Dory they might just do it. Thirteen years after Finding Nemo took the box office by storm and became one of Pixar's best loved movies, we return to the ocean with Finding Dory. Set a year after the first movie, Dory (Ellen DeGeneres) is living with Marlin (Albert Brooks) and Nemo (Hayden Rolence), in fact Marlin has essentially adopted her. Dory is still struggling with her memory but has random flashes of her past. When she remembers something about her parents the three of them set off on another fun filled journey across the ocean to find out where Dory came from. Along the way they meet old friends and make some new ones including Hank (Ed O'Neill), a seven tentacled octopus who just wants to be left alone, Destiny (Kaitlin Olson) a near sighted whale shark, Bailey (Ty Burrell) a supposedly echolocation challenged Beluga Whale and sea lions

Once again the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) is caught up in controversy, this time with the release of Suicide Squad. So far critics have been very, well critical of the movie. Something fans aren't happy about, so much so that they have called for Rotten Tomatoes to be shut down. As a movie fan I find it a little extreme to want to quiet those who don't agree with you. One of the joys of movies is discussing and debating them, that doesn't really work if the other side can't speak. Are the fans worried about sequels? Because movie companies are more likely to look at profit, and maybe fan reaction. I'm not a movie critic, I'm just a movie fan and I thought Suicide Squad was brilliant. This is probably the hardest review I've written so far. I've been a fan of the Bourne movies ever since The Bourne Identity came out. I am one of the apparent few who not only like The Bourne Legacy but also can't understand why so many others don't like it. It's fair to say that Paul Feig's Ghostbusters reboot has been shrouded in a mist of controversy since it's announcement only to be hit by a tsunami of hatred. Before I get into the review I'd just like to say that it doesn't matter how much you like the 1984 original, you don't have the right to be a dick to people! Be it a racist dick, a sexist dick or just a general dick! Either on the internet or in person. The fact that Leslie Jones has had to quit Twitter because of bullying and harassment is shameful! As a successful comedian and actress she deserves our respect, getting a starring role in a major Hollywood movie is an incredible achievement. Having watched the promo video what do you think? This week I saw Ghostbusters in 4DX and it definitely made the movie more of a ride. In fact 4DX feels like it was designed to appeal to the roller coaster crowd but will you miss the experience when watching the same movies at home?  When I saw Ghostbusters for the second time I decided to view it in 4DX because I wanted to know what the "environmental effects" did for the movie going experience. The movement, air bursts, smoke and spraying water were more of a distraction than anything else, all of which felt out of sink with the movie. The effects like the strobe lights went off a split second before whatever they were supposed to augment happened. If there's one thing you can almost guarantee about Hollywood it's that it can't make a decent movie adaptation of a video game. I say almost because Michael Fassbender may prove me wrong very soon with Assassin's Creed. But look at the list: Super Mario Bros. Street Fighter Mortal Kombat Wing Commander Lara Croft: Tomb Raider + Cradle of Life Resident Evil + 5 sequels and a possible TV spinoff Doom DOA: Dead or Alive Hitman + Agent 47 Far Cry Max Payne Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Need for Speed Mediocre is a word that springs to mind. Even Warcraft: The Beginning has received mostly negative reviews despite being the highest grossing movie of all time based on a video game. So do I really want to see Nate and Sully hit the big screen? Or would Uncharted fans be better off with them staying in their PlayStations?
