The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare | Average Guy Movie Review

With the Battle of the Atlantic in full swing, Churchill is desperate to find a way to neutralise Hitler's U-Boats. Which leads British Intelligence to come up with an audacious and unorthodox plan. The idea being to sneak into the Spanish island port off the coast of Africa where the U-Boats are docked, and take out the boats that are resupplying them, seriously damaging their ability to target the convoys crossing from North America. Now they just need to find people crazy enough to take on such a mission. The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare , a decidedly British story, has finally landed on British shores. It's a heavily fictionalised telling of Operation Postmaster - the real operation took about 30 minutes and not a shot was fired. But that doesn't prevent Guy Ritchie from having a little fun, delivering a little action-packed romp whilst also capturing that spirit needed to take on such a task, and the one that got Britain through the war. While it's not his bes

Godzilla vs Kong | Average Guy Movie Review

When Kong is removed from Skull Island as part of a major expedition, Godzilla quickly steps in to assert his position as King of the Monsters. What follows is a heavy-weight bout of epic proportions, one that reveals an ancient rivalry between the two species. But with the Apex Cybernetics corporation picking up the tab, is there more to this expedition than meets the eye? It's movies like this that should really be seen on the big screen! Between the breath-taking visuals and epic kaiju fights - all of which is set perfectly to Junkie XL's fantastic score - Adam Wingard's foray into the MonsterVerse certainly lives up to its title. Seeing these two giants - as well as a certain third player - knock seven bells out of each other is... well, monstrous fun. And because the visuals are so crisp, you can appreciate every punch, every radioactive breath and every smashed building. In that respect Godzilla vs Kong is exactly what fans want; a humongous clash of the titans, from

Godzilla vs. Kong | Moustache Trailer Reaction

The first trailer for Godzilla vs. Kong has quite literally crashed on to our screens, and it promises all the destruction you'd expect of a global fight between titans. If you haven't seen the trailer, or just want to watch it again, you can check it out below. Adam Wingard (The Guest, Blair Witch) leads the charge in the latest entry in the 'MonsterVerse', which sees two of the behemoths go head to head. We haven't seen Kong since 1973, and now it seems that Monarch need him for some unknown reason, one that undoubtedly involves global destruction if they fail. We know it has something to do with Kong's "true home", and a war that wiped out most of the titans. What that means for all of the titans seen bowing to Godzilla at the end of King of the Monsters is anybody's guess, at this point. But Godzilla's all pissed off for some reason, and is determined to get in the way of Kong's journey of discovery. Hence why every time the two titans

Baby Driver | Average Guy Movie Review

Edgar Wright puts his own spin on the heist/getaway movie in his latest outing. Named after the song by Simon and Garfunkel, Baby Driver tells the story of a skilled getaway driver who suffers from tinnitus, to drown out this "hum in the drum", Baby (Ansel Elgort) is constantly listening to music. In fact, the whole movie is set to music, even the gunshots sync with the beat of whatever song is playing. It took Wright 16 years to write this script, and then another 6 to bring it to the big screen. But it's a movie that's well worth the wait! The opening chase alone is incredibly fun to watch, yet intelligent and tense as well. I wouldn't blame someone for thinking there's nothing new to do with a car chase, but I'd definitely encourage them to watch Baby Driver before they make up their mind. Especially considering all of the driving was done practically, no CGI or green screen here. Elgort was allowed to do some of the driving and what he cou
