Ghostbusters: Afterlife | Moustache Trailer Reaction

We have another trailer for Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Much like those that came before it, the "International" trailer hints at all the delightful chaos that's coming to the town of Summerville, Oklahoma, as the responsibility of protecting our world from the paranormal is passed to a new generation of Ghostbusters. Check out the trailer below.

In the previous trailers the focus has very much been on the mystery and the fun. But with this new trailer we get hints at the horror side of the story. Ghostbusters is well known for being a mix of sci-fi, horror and comedy, and Afterlife looks to be no different. The trailer opens with a truck racing through the night, before crashing into a crop field. At first the driver appears to be running from an unseen pursuer. But given that said driver has a certain piece of specialist equipment in their possession, it seems that they're more likely luring someone or something back to their home. The likelihood is this is Egon carrying on his work, studying the paranormal and a certain cult leader. It's actually quite sad to think of the Ghostbusters being forgotten (again), and Egon out in the middle of nowhere, carrying on alone. And with Harold Ramis having sadly passed away back in 2014, the story revolves around Egon's daughter Callie (Carrie Coon) - who is seen wearing an outfit not dissimilar to the one worn by Sigourney Weaver as the 'Gatekeeper' in the original movie - inheriting his home, and through this his grandchildren learn of his and the other Ghostbusters' exploits. So it's likely that whatever he's up to at the start of the trailer doesn't go so well.

However, all this does mean that we get to make another exciting foray into the world of paranormal investigations and eliminations. As Phoebe (McKenna Grace) and Trevor (Finn Wolfhard) explore their grandfather's old house, they discover relics from his career - one of which is a "Trap" that's hidden in a secret compartment, and proves to be rather exciting for their teacher and Ghostbusters fan, Mr Grooberson (Paul Rudd). Rudd is the perfect choice for the role of Mr Grooberson, he can play all of the serious and emotional stuff very genuinely, and he's also a big kid. But the truly awesome find is ECTO-1. I have to agree with 'Podcast' (Logan Kim) when he says: "I love this car!" Seeing ECTO-1 finally get in on the action is quite something! It's always been a big part of the brand, but only now is it getting put to good use as the kids chase 'Muncher' (a ghost who resembles 'Slimer') through downtown Summerville. Just hearing that very unique siren, and the incredible score is enough to evoke a sense of excitement, not to mention happy memories of enjoying the movies, cartoons and toys.

ECTO-1 and the original Ghostbusters aren't the only characters returning for Afterlife. With Egon continuing to investigate Ivo Shandor and his attempts to bring about the end of the world, Gozer and her pals are back too, including the infamous 'Devil Dogs'. Summerville has been experiencing regular earthquakes, even though the town doesn't sit on a fault line. This undoubtedly has something to do with a rather spooky mine owned by the troublesome occultist, and the strange goings on within. Thanks to some impressive visual effects the hell hounds - and all of the spooks, spectres and ghosts - are scarier and more real than ever. I think it's fair to say that if you ever encountered one in the real world, you might need to change your underwear - much like Mr Grooberson does in the trailer. In fact, I'd say his reaction to finding a Devil Dog in the local supermarket is rather reserved. If it were me I think there would be more screaming.

Even with the action-packed shenanigans and the spooky goings on, however, it still feels like there's a family story at the heart of Ghostbusters: Afterlife. It's about a family coming together to face great challenges, while learning about their grandfather, and working to carry on his legacy. But the movie also marks an exciting opportunity for generations of Ghostbusters fans who have grown up with the franchise - like director Jason Reitman, who has taken on the role from his father, Ivan Reitman - they will now be able to share their love for these characters with their children and grandchildren. And who knows where things will go from here.

The wait for Ghostbusters: Afterlife is almost over, and with everything we've seen so far the movie looks like it was worth waiting for, so we can enjoy it on the big screen.

Ghostbuster: Afterlife hits UK cinemas on 18th November.

Road House | A Moustache Double-Bill

Firstly, I should probably point out that up until recently the high-kicking 1989 cult classic has eluded me - or maybe it was me eluding it. Who knows? Anyway, seeing that Doug Liman and Jake Gyllenhaal have taken it upon themselves to remake Road House  and put a 21st century spin on solving every problem by kicking, I figured; 'why not make it a double feature?' View the two movies for the first time one after the other and see how they measure up.  Naturally I took the chronological approach, starting with the original movie and then moving on to the remake. Watching this cult classic for the first time, I was struck by how much it feels like a feature length episode of The A-Team . Typical 80's good guy arrives in town, where he comes to blows with the rich guy/your typical A-Team  bad guy who thinks he owns the place. Seriously, stick that famous opening monologue on the beginning and have Patrick Swayze's 'Dalton' build some weird weapon from parts acquir...

A Million Ways To Die In The West | Average Guy Movie Review | Movierob's Genre Grandeur

For Movierob 's Genre Grandeur on Western Crossovers, I am looking at Seth MacFarlane's guide to surviving the old west for all those who aren't Clint Eastwood, A Million Ways To Die In The West. It follows Albert Stark (MacFarlane), a sheep herder on the frontier who seems to be the only person that sees the west for what it is; a dangerous, disease infested, unforgiving shit hole. "Hell, this was Miss America in 1880... ..."Holy Shit!"  After his girlfriend dumps him, Albert prepares to leave his hometown of Old Stump for San Francisco. But his plans are interrupted by the arrival of Anna (Charlize Theron), who shows him how to enjoy life. Unfortunately for Albert, Anna is married to Clinch Leatherwood (Liam Neeson), one of the most dangerous outlaws in the territory and he's none too happy about Albert spending time with his wife! The story for A Million Ways To Die In The West began as a joke between MacFarlane, Alec Sulkin and Welles...

Jason Bourne: Spoiler Review

I don't usually write spoiler filled reviews because I don't see the point. But considering my not so positive review of Jason Bourne, one of the most highly anticipated movies of Summer 2016, I thought it might be worth trying to explain why I reached the verdict I did. If you haven't seen this movie stop reading because there are spoilers ahead. Click here to see the spoiler free review. The movie begins with Bourne in Greece. He's laying low, making money by competing in underground fights and still struggling with his past. He lacks purpose which is making him miserable. Nicky Parsons on the other hand is busy hacking the CIA in order to expose their black ops programs. So far so good. But when Nicky finds something out about Jason's (or should I say David's) past, she heads to Greece to find him. Unfortunately her activities have drawn the attention of CIA Agent Heather Lee (Alicia Vikander), a cyber ops specialist who begins to track her. Using a ...
